Final Vows eBook Karen Kingsbury

When Carol Montecalvo began writing to a man in prison through a program at her church, she considered it her Christian duty. But these letters soon became her lifeline, something she actually looked forward to sending and receiving. She fell in love with Dan, the man behind the letters. In Final Vows, #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury chronicles a couples unlikely romance and marriage, and what led to Carol's bloody death on her kitchen floor. It seems her husband has obvious motives for murder. But is this former felon really guilty? Or could he actually be a grieving widower, in the wrong place at the wrong time, showing the wrong type of emotions when faced with his wife's lifeless body?
Final Vows eBook Karen Kingsbury
I am a fan of Karen Kingsbury so I was eager to add Final Vows to my Kindle collection. The story unfolds quickly with the murder of Carol Montecalvo. From there the reader is offered several possible suspects. At that point the story begins the drag. The forty six chapters of this story could have easily been told in twenty three. When you finally reach the end the reader is left hanging as to who killed Mrs. Montecalvo.I'm still a fan of Kingsbury....but I can't wholeheartedly recommend Final Vows.Product details

Final Vows eBook Karen Kingsbury Reviews
Karen Kingsbury did a great job describing the life of the main characters in this book. Carol tried to find love and happiness in her life. She may have found love (not sure about that), but she never really found the happy life she was looking for. This book left you wondering if justice has been served in this case. I don't think the prosecutor did a very good job.
There were no pictures in this book either. I think that all the version true crime books should include the photos from the paperback version.
It was a book where everyone came to believe he was innocent but no one could prove it. It was well written and a totally different write from Karen Kingsbury! Unusual, but still Karen. I can see why she decided to go in a different direction though after reading her other books!
well written but I had a hard time dealing with the ending. Its like I got caught up in this whole story of this man accused of killing his wife, found guilty on no real physical evidence , while someone else winds up confessing who the police ignore. I was so into it and truly came to believe he was innocent but no justice in the end. I kept waiting for something to happen to change the outcome but it never happened and I was left hanging in mid air. I have a hard time thinking of someone spending their life behind bars for something someone else did and all because of shoddy police work. The longer I read the angrier I became at the police. The ending was too sad for me.
Karen Kingsbury found her niche in Christian fiction and she does it very well. This book convinced me she isn't meant to be a true - crime author. I don't recommend Final Vows--it's really, really boring, but I do recommend her other Christian writing. She needs to let this book quietly die.
I love that Karen used to write these stories and has completely shifter her genre. It tells me that people can change and that she is more versatile than I realized. That being said, murder mysteries aren’t my preferred genre, but this kept my attention most of the time. There were times that details were repeated too many times, but I wanted to see how things would end for the main character.
Karen Kingsbury wrote 4 true crime books. I have read all 4 and I found this one to be the least of the four. The murder is horrific and awful. A, in many ways, naive woman, who is good at heart, tries to find the best in people and be helpful to all. But it is hard to fathom why anyone would not see "red lights" and at least begin to be suspicious and careful. It is hard to feel any type of empathy toward the suspected murderer, in spite of the fact that he continues to proclaim his innocence and the evidence that tends to stack up against others that may have been involved. In the end, it is, more or less, up to the reader to decide who they think is guilty. The courts have had their say but the book leaves things at, pretty much, loose ends. I found the book unsatisfying and I am a real lover of true crime and mystery books. I would read Kinsbury's other 3 true crime books, which are excellent. I give this one a mediocre recommend.
Excellent story teller. Karen always keep you reading in suspense. This is different than I've read of hers. Dan was a suspect and maybe a innocent man for something maybe someone else. Susan had a drug problem that live two door down. Carol and Dan went for a walk, and when they returned there were burglars in their home. Carol walk in and surprise them. I believe Susan such a list and drugged shot her. Dan was the one went to prison. Read it and see what you think.
